Update: Civil Organizations Provide Essentials to Kosgama Victims

Concerned civilians and volunteer organizations in the country continue to provide assistance to Kosgama blast victims by way of providing dry rations, furniture, household items and other essentials to both the Sri Lanka Army and the Divisional Secretariat for Seethawaka. 

On Tuesday (14), a consignment of new mattresses and pillows for distribution among the affected was handed over to Major General Channa Goonetilleke, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) who is also coordinating relief work at Kosgama by Colombo North-based ‘Manawa Sathkaraka Padanama’ (Organization for Assistance of Human Beings). 

Ven. Mathurata Dhammalankara Thero, President, ‘Manawa Sathkaraka Padanama’ and one of its patrons, Mr Sisira Wijesinghe who is also the Media Advisor to the Sri Lanka Army, took the stock to the Army office at Boralugoda and handed it over to Major General Goonetilleke for distribution among the most wanted. 

Buddhist monks, several employees in the ‘Manawa Sathkaraka Padanama’-managed Home for the Elders at Kotahena, Colombo 13 took part in the donation programme.  

Similarly, Ven Dananagama Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thero, Chairperson, ‘The Buddhist’ TV channel and Incumbent, Sambodhi Viharaya on Monday (13) provided another large consignment of dry rations to the Army for distribution among the victims.
