Troops Use Own Money to Buy Essentials for Needy Families in Murukkandi

Troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) gave away dry ration packets to 10 needy families in Murukkandi village in Kilinochchi using their own financial collection.

After the troops observed that those families are undergoing hardships for their survival, 4 SLSR troops got together and came forward to organize this distribution of dry rations and essentials.

Each dry ration packet consisted of rice, dhal, sugar, tea, soap, flour, chillies, spices, milk powder packets, etc to the value of Rs 2500/= each packet.

The initiative taken by Major Nalin Wickramaarchchi, Commanding Officer, 4 SLSR was attended by several Officers and Other Rankers who contributed to the project.
