Troops in their Hundreds Join ‘National Drug Prevention’

Troops across the country continue to support the National Drug Prevention campaign of the Presidential Task Force by distributing literature on dangers of drugs and its addiction as agreed upon by the Commander of the Army and other stakeholders during a recent meeting at the Army Headquarters.

Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) during January 21 - 25 with the support of all troops in Divisions, Brigades and Units distributed those leaflets among all the schools in the respective areas.

The project under the SFHQ-Cen was closely supervised by the Commander, Security Forces - Central, Major General Ruwan De Silva.

Meanwhile, the Uttaradevi train with a new India-manufactured engine arrived at Kilinochchi, Araviyalnagar railway station, making its maiden tour to the north on Sunday (27) with a group of passengers bound for Kankasanthurai. Troops interacted with passengers and distributed leaflets when the train paused at this railway station on its way to the north.

A large group of troops of 571, 574 Brigades, 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 3 Gajaba Regiment and 4 (V) Sri Lanka Women’s Corps took part in the distribution of those leaflets on the directions of Major General Ralf Nugera, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi and the 57 Division General Officer Commanding.
