Troops Support Thaipongal Poojas

Troops of the 57 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) organized a series of events to mark 'Thaipongal' with the public in Kilinochchi.

The ‘Shramadana’ campaigns were first conducted to clean the surroundings suitable for this colourful religious festival by the troops at Hindu temples in their areas of responsibility.

Those ‘Shramadana’ campaigns were initiated on the directions given by General Officer Commanding, 57 Division Major General Jagath Gunawardena. Troops also attended to Thaipongal Poojas in the same Hindu temples that were decorated and cleaned by them.

57 Division also organized special Poojas at Kilinochchi Kandasamy Kovil, Maruthanaga Aiyanar Kovil, Visuamadu Mari Amman Kovil, Murusamodei Murugan Kovil, Mankulam Murugan Kovil, Jayanthinagar Minachchi Amman Kovil, Uriyan Werwa Kovil, Murukkandi Kovil, Visuamadu Adesaya Venayagr kovil, Ampakamam Pullayar Kovil, Malayalapurm Ganapathe Amman Kovil,Thiruvaiaru Pullayar Kovil, Barathipuram Amman Kovil ,Ceththe Vinayagr kovil and Mutthumari Amman Kovil in Kilinochchi area with the participation of Hindu devotees.
