Troops Mark 7th Anniversary in 11 Division Hqrs

Kandy - based 11 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) marked its 7th anniversary on Wednesday (15).

The anniversary programme was held under the guidance of Major General D.S.N.K Senadeera, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 11 Division and included several projects.

Offering of 'Gilanpasa' (beverage) to the Sri Dalada Maligawa ( Temple of Relic Tooth) followed a pooja to the 'Satharamaha Devala' (four shrines of deities) in order to invoke blessings on the Division’s flag on February (14).

The newly - built other rankers’ mess and the renovated Headquarters building was also opened to coincide with the anniversary by the GOC, 11 Division, Major General D.S.N.K Senadeera at the same time. An all rank lunch at Division Headquarters added comradeship to the occasion.

An all-night Pirith chanting followed by ‘Heel Daanaya’ (alms-giving) offered to 13 Buddhist monks the following morning brought the programmes to end.
