A wild fire broke out on Wednesday (15) at the forest reserve near the Ravana Cave in the Ella Divisional Secretariat, was controlled by the troops of the 112 Brigade on the instructions of the Brigade Commander, 112 Brigade serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C).
An officer and 25 other ranks immediately rushed to douse the wild fire.
The fire that began around 07.15 a.m. in the morning was brought under control by 3.00 p.m.
