Troops Ensure School Safety Mending Fence & Conduct Kovil Shramadana

At the request of school authorities, 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment offered their assistance to restore the barbed wire perimeter fence at Thewanpiddy Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School in Kilinochchi District.

A group of 16 Army personnel on the directions of Brigadier Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 65 Division and supervised by Brigadier Ranjith Abeysinghe, Commander, 651 Brigade attended to the work on Monday (12) with the support of teachers and non-academic staff.

Principal, teachers and students thanked the Army for its concern about the safety of the students in the school.

Meanwhile, troops of 21 Volunteer Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) of the 653 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) carried out a Shramadana campaign on Tuesday (13) at Iyankankulam Pulleyar Kovil to clean up its surroundings.
