Troops Educated on Mental Health & Prevention of Suicide

Intending to educate the 61 Division troops on the incidence of suicide and the importance of maintaining balanced mental health, a lecture session, organized on a proposal of Brigadier K.D.C.G.J Thilakarathna, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 61 Division with the support of Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W) got underway at the 61 Division Headquarters on Tuesday (16) in Vavuniya.

25 Officers including 611 Brigade Commander, three hundred plus troops attended these lectures, conducted by lecturers of the Directorate of Preventive Medicine and Mental Health of the Sri Lanka Army, led by Dr Nishyanka Gunarathna, the visiting lecturer at Peradeniya University.
