On account of the recent Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day, a ‘Bodhi Pooja’, (meritorious act) organized by 8 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) got underway on Thursday (12) at the Security Force Headquarters- Central (SFHQ- C).
Ven Ellewela Sobitha Thero, Chief Incumbent at Menik Kanda Vimalagiri Temple conducted the Dhamma sermon after the Pooja at the temple inside the SFHQ-C.
Blessings were invoked on all serving soldiers and merits transferred to the dead during the arrangement.
Representing the Commander, SF-C, Brigadier N.K Wadugoda, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ - C, Colonel P.A Kaluarachchi, Brigadier Administration and Quartering, together with senior officers, officers and more than 250 other ranks attended the programme.
Meanwhile, one more ‘Bodhi Pooja’ was organized by the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Thursday (12) at Muladeepa Temple inside the camp an account of the full moon day.
Representing the Commander, Security Forces – Mullaittivu (SF-MLT), Brigadier B.P.S De Silva Brigadier General Staff (BGS), SFHQ-MLT took part in the programme, together with senior officers, officers and other ranks.
Ven Rathgama Santhaveriya Thero, residing at Anuradapura Hermitage conducted the Dhamma sermon after the Pooja.
In the meantime, on the instructions of Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ -E) arranged another Bodhi Pooja programme at the temple in the Headquarters premises of the SFHQ- E on Thursday (12). Ven. Galmulle Sugathawansha Thero conducted the Bodhi Pooja programme and a Dhamma sermon. The Commander, SFHQ-E, a number of senior officers and other ranks participated in the religious pregramme.
