Troops Condole with Bereaved Family & Support Funeral Arrangements

651 Brigade troops under the 65 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ - KLN) considering the needs of the occasion, voluntarily offered assistance to a needy family for conduct of the funeral of their 13-year old son who accidentally died recently while riding a swing in the home compound in Iranamanathanagar, Ambapuram, Kilinochchi.

At the request of the family, Major General Kumara Peiris, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 65 Division under the guidelines given by Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) provided the house of mourning with temporary marquees, chairs, cooking utensils, meals (on all two days) and other requirements.

On the funeral day, sanitary facilities were put up near the house and facilitated villagers in Ambapuram to pay their last respects. Troops provided refreshments, packets of biscuits and cooked meals to all those who were attending as gestures of considerateness, sympathy, goodwill and reconciliation.

In addition, Brigadier Ranjith Abeysinghe, Commander, 651 Brigade, together with several other Officers and Other Ranks attended the funeral in the nearby burial ground. url clone | Nike
