Troops Clean up Deaf & Blind School for Children

Troops of the 68 Division in Mullaittivu spearheaded a ‘Shramadana’ programme to mark the 69th Independence Day on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 68 Division at Iniyawalwu Illam, Deaf and Blind school for Children at Wallipunam, Mullaittivu on Friday (3).

Officers and other ranks of the 68 Division visited the Deaf and Blind School for Children at Wallipunam, Mullaittivu, cleaned up the premises and provided meals to 46 inmates on Saturday (4) to coincide with the Independence Day.

At the end of the programme, gift parcels were also distributed among those children.

The event was organized on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) and supervised by the GOC, 68 Division, Brigadier P.A.D Kahapola.

Lieutenant Colonel W.M.A Nissanka, Civil Coordinating Officer, 68 Division, senior officers and other rankers supported the arrangement.
