Troops Assist to Control Spread of Garbage-slide at ‘Sri Pada’

19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops serving in the general areas in Nallathanni on Saturday (21) rushed to the Sri Pada premises adjacent to the ‘Mahagiri Daba’, ‘Welamita Wanguwa’ and assisted to control the spread of a garbage-slide that was developing in the past 48 hours ending Saturday (21) morning.

On being informed of the developing situation in relation to the garbage-slide, Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) instructed 19 SLNG troops to attend the emergency and assists the control of the situation.

In the next couple of hours, a contingent of 40 soldiers including the ones already on the job are to be mobilized to the affected area.
