Troops of 56 Division Organized a 4-Day Family Trip

Army personnel in under command formations of the 56 Division, civil employees and their family members joined a 4-day long family trip during 14-17 June under the directions of Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces – Wanni.

The first destination of their trip was Anuradhapura. There, they visited Ruwanweli Mahaseya, Lowamahapaya and ancient archaeological sites such as Moonstones, Guard Stones, Alms halls, Samadi Buddha Statue, Abhayagiriya, Isurumuniya Temple, Twin Ponds, etc.

On the second day, all of them visited the shrine of Our Lady of Madhu, Thiriketheeshwaram Kovil, Thalaimannar Pier and Mannar town, Mihinthalaya Temple and Nachchaduwa Reservoir visited on the third day of the family trip.

The final day of the four-day trip was made colourful by a dinner followed by a musical show.

Brigadier Prabath Dematanpitiya, General Officer Commanding, 56 Division who was behind organizing it took part in the occasion as the chief guest.
