TNA the Tamil People's Worst Enemy- Sangaree

PRESIDENT of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) and Secretary of the Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA) V. Anandasangaree says the TNA is the first and the worst enemy of the Tamil people and he will not touch the TNA even with a “pole”.

Anandasangaree says the TNA should take full responsibility for the loss of several thousands of lives and for causing injuries to many more which could have been avoided if only the TNA had the foresight to advise the LTTE to release the innocent civilians from their grip, to go anywhere and do anything they liked.

“One in ten persons in the IDP camps has some type of deformity. Many have become widows, widowers and orphans. The kith and kin of some are either dead or missing. Almost all have lost all their belongings such as household items, lorries, vans, tractors, trailers, three-wheelers, motor-cars, motor-cycles, their dairy farms, their poultry while their poor children lost the opportunity to continue with their studies. All have become paupers now. They will find nothing left when they return to their homes one day. The TNA has to be blamed for this because from the very beginning the TNA kept on asking for the war to stop thereby giving Prabhakaran the time to stock up more arms and kill more innocent people. When the 8000 students who sat for the G.C.E (O/L) exam were forcefully taken away for compulsory training by the LTTE the TNA kept mum.  Some of them are now dead and others are in the custody of the Government. Where are the children and grand-children of the TNA MPs? Will the TNA at least now tell the world as to what happened to the students at Sencholai?” he said.

Anandasangaree says under the present circumstances the most honourable action the TNA can take is to quit parliament without clinging on to their posts and their seats in Parliament. He also said the TNA should not under-estimate the DTNA alliance partners who cannot be bought over with a mayorship or a seat in Parliament as they once sold themselves to the highest bidder in April 2004.
