Thirteen Tiger Infiltrators Killed in Ambush

AMPARA: TIGER terrorists, who have inducted terrorist teams into the east, either disguised as civilians or otherwise with the intention of crippling normalcy, had to undergo a terrible fate this morning (3) at about 6.15 a.m. when Special Task Force troops laid an ambush and killed thirteen Tiger terrorists in KOTIYAKUMBURA, LAHUGALA, AMPARA.

     Pockets of Tiger terrorists since of recent times after their entry into TRINCOMALEE, BATTICALOA and AMPARA provinces have been carrying out a new wave of killings in order to provoke civilians as well as Security Forces. 

     Friday’s (3) attack on the terrorists proved that those pockets while operating in jungle areas were trying to destabilize the resurgence of peace in the area. After the STF attack, troops collected thirteen dead Tigers, five T-56 weapons and one M-16 gun from the affected location.

     STF troops as this edition went to Press were conducting a cordon and search in the area.
