This meet, offered the rare opportunity for the Tamil recruits to meet their parents and relatives after some time while they are still under training. The programme lasted a few hours into the evening.

The recruit training began on 26 January under the supervision of 15 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA). After completion of the basic recruit training, these recruits will be posted in the field as Mechanics, Electricians, Welders, Plumbers and Masons to the Service Regiments in the Sri Lanka Army under the SFHQ-MLT.
