The certificate awarding ceremony of Tamil Language Proficiency courses, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) took place at Nelumpiyasa auditorium in Kilinochchi during a ceremony on Wednesday (27).
Each Tamil language course, conducted under three phases, on a proposal made by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) was restricted to 30 days. In the past 6 months, a total of 2373 Army personnel serving all Divisions, Brigades and Battalions under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) learnt basic spoken Tamil language and received communicative skills after the courses.
During the certificate-awarding ceremony on Wednesday (27) Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana as the Chief Guest gave away proficiency certificates to those who followed the courses and excelled.
Clergies of Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic faiths, Mr S. Arumeinayagam, District Secretary for Kilinochchi, Zonal Education Directors, school Principals in the area, General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and civilians participated in the ceremony.
