Registration of students for educational training programmes at the newly-established 'Harmony Centre' in Jaffna began on Thursday (06) with more focus on poverty-stricken children in Kankesanthurai area.
Under the first phase, students received registration for English and Sinhala Language courses, Mathematics, Aesthetics, Yoga and Information Technology courses at the Harmony Centre. All the courses are to be coordinated and conducted by the ‘Vidhu Trust’ and the Thelippalai Divisional Secretariat mustering the support of renowned teachers and instructors in the area.
The Centre, managed by the Army was established for the benefit of children and youngsters in the area and was a conceptual initiation of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, the then Commander, Security Forces Jaffna in order to uplift educational and aesthetic standards of the youth in Kankesanthurai area.
