Sri Lankan staff in the newly-established Level - 2 Hospital of the Sri Lanka Army in South Sudan under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) marked the 65th Army Anniversary and Army Day (October 10) during a few ceremonies.
Troops on October 8 (Poya Day) gathered in front of the new Buddhist Shrine, opened in the premises and observed religious rites and rituals while transferring merits on all fallen War Heroes.
On the Army Day they first paid respect to the memorial and the Commander’s message was read out in a colourful parade that got underway at the premises. An all rank lunch culminated the anniversary programme.
