Sri Lankan Expatriates Donate Wheelchairs to Mark Birthday

A Sri Lankan family, domiciled in Canada in coordination with Neth FM radio on account of one of their birthdays, donated a stock of medicine and five wheelchairs to the Army Hospital at Narahenpita on Thursday (28).

The Pathirana family of Canada were present at the venue to hand over the stock of wheelchairs and medicine to Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General of Army Health Services in the company of the coordinator to the programme, Ms Thinitha Ratnayake of Neth FM, Mr Asanga Jayasuriya, Neth FM Chief Executive officer, Mr Hemantha Kahawalage, Manager News, Neth FM, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera, Military Spokesman and Director Media, Brigadier Wimal Vidanage, Director Management and Maintenance, family members of the donors, several members of the hospital staff and a few Army officers.

Major General Munasinghe after receiving the stock thanked the donors for their generosity and the concern for War Heroes who are still receiving treatment in hospitals and wellness resorts. The gesture was meant to mark the birthday of one of the members in the family.

Brigadier Wimal Vidanage welcomed the donors and coordinated the day’s programme.
