'Sri Lankan Airlines' Jumps on the Army's Environmental Bandwagon

'Sri Lankan Airlines' was the latest to jump on the environmental bandwagon, initiated by the Sri Lanka Army by offering a stock of 5,000 saplings of rare species to be planted in the Wilpattu National Reserve under the ongoing 'Thuruliya Wenuwen Api' reforestation project, conceptualized by the Commander of the Army and implemented by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni.

At the Commander's Office, Messrs Pradeepa Kekulawala, Head of Logistics & Properties and Danushka De Silva, Environment Manager of the 'Sri Lankan Airlines' met Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army this morning (25) and gifted the Army with 5,000 saplings of valuable varieties under the company's Corporate Social Responsibility project.

Mee, Jack, Kumbuk, Bread fruit, Mango, Naa, etc are among those saplings, donated to the Army. Both of them symbolically handed over a sapling of Mee to the architect of the national drive at the same time at the Commander's office and had a friendly exchange of views on the Wilpattu reforestation project.
