Sri Lanka Army’s RSMs in Bangladesh for Interaction Warmly Welcomed

The five- member team of Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSMs) of the Sri Lanka Army who interacted with their counterparts in the Bangladesh Army for refreshing each other’s knowledge on logistics and experiences for the first time in their career, returned to the island after successful completion of their familiarization tour.

Those Sri Lankan RSMs during their stay in Bangladesh underwent training in the Bangladesh Army’s 57 East Bengal Regimental Headquarters, Bogra cantonment and visited Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs’) Academy before they had the privilege of meeting with the Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army for an interactive session.

Towards the end of their cordial interactions for 5 days, the Bangladesh NCOs’ academy hosted a dinner to the visiting Sri Lankan RSMs where Brigadier General Abdul Razzaq, Commandant, NCOs’ Academy dignified the occasion by his presence.

On the final day of their stay, Sri Lankan RSMs received a briefing on the academy and had the chance of visiting all the faculties before they met the Commandant for cordial meeting.

During their stay, the visiting RSMs witnessed a field training exercise, the tactical training procedures on withdrawal and advance to contact and other related logistic procedures.

During the course of their meeting, with the Adjutant General of the Bangladesh Army, Major General S.M Matiur Rahman spoke high of Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake’s conceptual notion of launching such an exchange programme for the benefit of RSMs’ of both Armies.

Before their departure, those RSMs did not forget to pay a courtesy call on the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Bangladesh, HE General Crisanthe De Silva (Rtd). Those RSMs returned to the island a few days ago.
