Sri Lanka Army Women’s Rowing Team emerged as the overall champions winning women's segment at the Defence Services Rowing Championships - 2018, conducted by the Army Rowing Association on the waters of Diyawanna Oya.
The Defence Services Rowing Championships was held during 21 - 23 March at Diyawanna lake with the participation of tri service rowers.
The Army rowing teams displayed exceptional performances to emerge as champions in women’s category securing 3 Gold and 3 Silver medals and winning 1 Gold and 1 Bronze medals respectively as Runners-up in the Men’s category.
Major General Dampath Fernando, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Army Headquarters graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and distributed certificates and trophies to the achievers at the invitation of Major General Ruwan Kulatunga, Chairman, Army Rowing Association.
