SRI LANKA ARMY has coordinated the transport of soccer teams of North and East schools to visit Colombo to participate in the Inter School Seven a Side Soccer tournament, held at Race-Course grounds Colombo during the weekend June 26 - 27. Participation of teams from North and East in this tournament was made possible only after the Security Forces crushed the ruthless LTTE terrorists in May 2009.
Three Schools from Jaffna, two from Vavuniya, two from Batticaloa, two from Ampara and one each from Trincomalee and Mannar were among forty eight island-wide school that took part in the tournament.
The Tournament was organized for the eighth year by the Old Anandians’ Football Society with the assistance of the Ananda College Colombo, Sri Lanka Football Federation and the Sri Lanka Schools’ Football Institute.
