A special X-mas mass, organized at the request of the troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) on account of the forthcoming Christmas festival got underway at the Catholic Church, Diyatalawa on Tuesday (16).
With the seasonal compliments as well as with the objective of further promoting religious reconciliation and peace among all communities in the area, the special service was organized by the troops on the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C.
Rev. Fr. Joseph BalRaj, parish priest conducted the mass. Major General Mano Perera at the end of the service distributed Christmas gifts and toys among the children who were present as a gesture of goodwill.
