Special Forces to Further Promote Welfare of their Disable &;amp; Families of Fallen War Heroes

Special Forces (SF) of the Sri Lanka Army whose warfare skills have now received worldwide recognition after their exclusive operations against the foes during the 30 year long-drawn fight for peace, persist in their commendable effort of taking care of their disable comrades, families of their fallen ones and all others still serving.

On Saturday (8) evening, a fund-raising musical fiesta, "Stars of 70s" organized by the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Special Forces at Musaeus College auditorium with a galaxy of renowned vocalists, like Annesley Malewana, Anil Bharati, Dharmarathna Brothers, Rajiv Sebastian, Mariazel Gunathillake, Paul Fernando, Shyami Fonseka, Priyantha Fernando, Ronnie Leach and Dalreen Suby went on the boards to a packed audience, including the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake as the Chief Guest.

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake and Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) were received on arrival by Major General Sumedha Perera, Colonel of the Regiment, SF and Mrs Himashini Perera, Chairperson, SF Seva Vanitha Unit.
 
The event, coloured by spectacular dancing feats and other entertaining features, drew a huge crowd of music fans and well-wishers.

Funds thus collected are to be used for the welfare of dependent, disable and family members of fallen SF War Heroes.
