Southern Province’s indigenous food Festival ‘Ruhunu Rasa Saraniya,’ organized by Southern Province’s Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with Tri-Forces got underway at Galle Town Hall premises during 26 -28 October.
Troops of the 581 Brigade, Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Artillery, Regimental Headquarters - Corps of Engineers, Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Headquarters - Corps of Engineer Service Regiment, Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Service Corps and Regimental Headquarters - Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were among those who joined the Food Festival by preparing food varieties, particular for all provinces in Sri Lanka.
Similarly, Sri Lanka Army displayed new innovative products, crafted by them in a separate stall which was highly appreciated by the visitors.
Major General Sudath Perera, General Officer Commanding 58 Division took part in the inaugural ceremony. The event was opened by Mr U.D Ariyathilake, Southern Province’s Minister of Agriculture.
A large number of food experts from different parts of the country also joined this mega food festival.
