The Sri Lanka Army Light Infantry (SLLI) Para Swimming Team secured the overall championship of the Sri Lanka Army Para Swimming Championship tournament, organized for the 20th consecutive time by the Sri Lanka Army Para Sports Committee, held during 20-21 July at the Panagoda Army Cantonment swimming pool complex.
The SLLI team won 21 Gold medals to claim the championship beating their rivals. The Gajaba Regiment team became runners up, winning 17 gold medals.
Around one hundred sportsmen representing six regiments participated in this tournament, conducted under four categories. A group of officers, including Brigadier M. M. Kithsiri, Centre Commandant, SLLI together with a few Senior Officers took part in the prize awarding ceremony.
