The newly-built gold fence around the Bodhi Tree of Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps (SLAPC) Headquarters was opened during a simple ceremony, held at the Headquarters, SLAPC, Pitigala in Elpitiya on Monday (18).
Colonel (Rtd) Deepal Tennakoon residing in the USA funded to erect the gold fence around the Bodhi Tree in the SLAPC temple premises.
The newly-built gold fence was opened by Brigadier T.T.P Silva, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the invitation of Lieutenant Colonel D.A.S Kolambarachchi, Commanding Officer of 2 (V) SLAPC.
Major W.D.R Wikramarachchi, Second in Command, SLAPC, several Officers and Other Ranks were present on the occasion.
