SLAC Colonel Commandant Joins Mango Planting Drive at A'Pura

Chief of Staff of the Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Major General Sathyapriya Liyange during a visit to Anuradhapura SLAC formations participated in the ceremonial commencement of mango tree planting at the SLAC Training Centre on Monday (18) to coincide with the ongoing “Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak” concept of the Commander of the Army.

The programme saw genetically-produced 150 Dr Tom Juan Carols (TJC) mango saplings were planted in the premises after the day's visitor inaugurated the drive. In order to encourage the troops for cultivation, the Senior Officer lent his inaugural assistance on the occasion.

Officers and Other Ranks at Armoured Corps Training Centre, Anuradhapura joined the project with the day’s Chief Guest.
