SL Red Cross Employee Found Killed

JAFFNA: TROOPS conducting further search and clear operations in IYATTHALAI area recovered one claymore mine, three hand grenades, one I-com set, three cyanide capsules, six code sheets, three area maps, one cassette player, one wallet, one SIM card and eleven thousand and five hundred in cash on Friday (26). 

It was Wednesday (24) morning that troops shot dead one senior LTTE cadre named SALAPPAN in the same area. (See Situation Report Titled “Senior Tiger Hiding in Kodikamam Area Shot Dead” on 26th June 2009)

In the meantime, an employee of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS) was reportedly killed by an unidentified assassin on Friday (26) inside her home in PULOLY.

     The victim, identified as ABIDAMI, a clerk of the SLRCS, had been strangled to death, information further revealed.
    
     The dead body was taken to MANTHIKAI hospital.

     The POINT PEDRO Police are conducting investigations.
