SL Army Woman Cricketers Secure Runners-up Slot

Sri Lanka Army woman cricketers clinched the Division I Women’s (Limited Over) runners-up slot - 2017 at Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) grounds, Colombo on Wednesday (3).

Air Force woman cricketers emerged victorious in the finals, defeating their Army counterparts by 61 runs. Army women were restricted to 129 against the rivals' 191.

Air Force chose to bat after winning the all-important toss at the MCA grounds.

Air Force woman cricketers finished on 190/9 in their 50 overs, although Army woman soldiers kept the pressure on the victors until the last moment.

However, Army woman cricketers ended up at 129 in 45.4 overs after a close encounter.
