Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) won the Championship in the recent Inter Regiment Table Tennis Championship 2017, held during 24 - 27 October 2017 at the Sri Lanka Army Physical Training School premises in Panagoda. A large gathering of talented and national rank players from all regiments in the Army took part in the tournament.
Signal players shone in the event with brilliant performances in both men’s and women’s events. Captain J. A. Y. S Jayakody of the SLSC won the award for the Best Player (Men) and Private E.D Warushavithana of the SLSC was adjudged the Best Player in the Women’s category.
The closing ceremony of the Table Tennis Championship took place in the evening on 27 October 2017 at the Army Physical Training School.
Director General Infantry, Major General Chagi Gallage graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the ceremony, accompanied by the Chairman of the Army Table Tennis Committee, Major General Ajith Wijesinghe.
