SFHQ-West Troops Join Search for the Missing Child

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on Monday (23) joined the search teams of the Police and other volunteers for the search of the missing 10-year old boy in the general area of Balangoda where he has disappeared after he went to fetch his father.

This boy who had been in the practice of collecting fire wood with his parents had reportedly gone there on Friday (20) but had failed to return after he entered a separate section of the jungle.

Police on being informed of the incident, a search operation had begun but with no results.

However, on Sunday (22) Police had approached the Army seeking its assistance to conduct continuing search operations.

More than 50 troops took part in the operation.
