SFHQ-S Troops Join Hands Together to Fight 'Dengue' Epidemic


Sri Lanka Army troops serving the Security Forces Headquarters, South (SFHQ-S) joined hands together with the officials of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office at Homagama and Homagama Pradeshiya Sabhawa for eradication of fast spreading Dengue epidemic in the area after launching an inspection project.

Hundreds of Army personnel, together with health officials and Pradeshiya Sabha workers on the directions of the Health Ministry’s Presidential Task Force visited almost all households and compounds in Mattegoda, Galavilawatta, Pitipana, Habarakada, Attygala, Godagama, Meegoda areas and other suburbs and looked out for any mosquito breeding places during May 15 - 21 in a bid to contain the spread of the epidemic.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (24) another group of soldiers in cooperation with Homagama MOH office took part in another round of Dengue eradication programme.  

Major General S.R Manawaduge, Commander, SFHQ-S has given necessary directions to the participating troops.
