SFHQ-MLT Presentations Held & 57th SIOT Commenced

The 57th Special Infantry Operation Training course commenced on Wednesday (22) at the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT).

The opening address was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel J.K.R Jayakody, General Staff Officer-I - Coordination who he highlighted the importance of learning SIO training.

Three officers and 32 other ranks serving in the SFHQ-MLT follow the course.

‘Voice Procedure’ module of the 1 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), ‘First Aid’ module of the Army Base Hospital, Mullaittivu, Assault Pioneer module of the Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) and the Air Force module of the Air Force are taught during this course until 17 July 2016.

In the meantime, a training day presentation was held at the SFHQ-MLT on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu (SF-MLT), Major General P.U.S Vithanage.

Lieutenant Colonel J.K.R Jayakody, General Staff Officer-I - Coordination, SFHQ – MLT together with several other staff officers witnessed the presentations.  

Lieutenant N.S.C Mendis of 12 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) conducted a lecture on ‘Leadership Qualities of Che Guavera’ and Lieutenant B.M.C.J Balasooriya of 6 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOCC) on ‘Yoga Exercises and Health Fitness’.

A total of 33 officers attended that lecture.
