On the instructions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters -Kilinochchi and under guidance of General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, troops of the 2 Sri Lanka National Guard recently, took students at Jayapuram Maha Vidyalaya, on a three-day tour to the Central and North Central Provinces.
54 students from Grade 10, 11 and 12 classes and 7 teachers participating in the project called at Mihinthale, Sri Maha Bhodhi, Ruwanweli Maha Seya, Thuparamaya, Temple of the Tooth, Botanical Garden at Peradeniya, ‘Kandy City Centre’ Shopping Complex, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa.
The group was joined by several teachers and parents, together with woman officers.
