SFHQ-Jaffna Motivates O/L & A/L Achievers Offering Incentives

Intending to stimulate the student community in Jaffna for better achievements in public examinations, the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) has taken an initiative to award valuable gifts to G.C.E. O/L and A/L achievers in the Jaffna peninsula.

The first segment of the project began on Thursday (2) at the SFHQ-J Headquarters auditorium after Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna invited island-wide A/L level achievers, J. Kanakasundaram (1st place-Engineering Technology stream in A/L) from Skandavarodaya College, Chunnakam and P. Kurupareshan (2nd place-Arts stream in A/L) from Hindu College, Manipay to the SFHQ-J and gifted them two valuable laptops and offered scholarships to appreciate their outstanding educational skills.

EW Information Systems Ltd at the request of the SFHQ-J donated both laptops for distribution to the Jaffna Commander expressing their appreciation of the project.

During the event, the SFHQ-J announced that the Jaffna Commander would personally ensure award of more scholarships to students in school cadet platoons in the future, if they were to perform well obtaining 3 ‘A’ passes in the A/L and 9 ‘A’ passes in the O/L examinations in future.

It is believed those gestures of goodwill and reconciliation would help promote mutual understanding and trust between the Security Forces and civilians, including the student community.
