SFHQ-J Supports Vidya Foundation’s Charity Work

Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) joined with members of the ‘Vidya Foundation’ to commemorate the brutal murder of the School student, Vidya Sivaloganathan and supported a donation programme of the ‘Vidya Foundation’ on Wednesday (27).

The event at the SFHQ-J auditorium was aimed at raising the standards of education among poor students in the North as well as the South with the intention of creating a harmonious society where everyone could live in peace.

This event was coordinated by the SFHQ-J on the directions of Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, SF-J after the donors approached the SFHQ-J.

The event awarded scholarships and sports items to 10 more deserving students at Pungudathive Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna on the same day during the ceremony.

In addition, 15 needy students in Jaffna area were also given the cover by awarding ‘Suraksha Insuarance Certificates’ at the same occasion.

Mrs. Swineetha Weerasinghe, veteran actress in Sri Lanka, Mr. Nandalal Malagoda, Senior Lecturer University of Kelaniya, Mr. Mohan Shankar, Director Oman Lanka Pvt. Ltd, Mrs Wadani Shankar, Director People’s Care of Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. Senior Military Officers, Students, Parents and Teachers of the Pungudathive Maha Vidyalaya attended the donation ceremony.
