SFHQ-J Join Hands with Private Sector to Provide Solution for Climatic Energy Crisis

Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) realizing challenges lying ahead, organized an awareness programme, together with a team from Open Source Energy Solutions (Pvt) Limited for the SFHQ-J troops on ‘Establishment of Bio Mass-Dendro Power Plant in Jaffna Peninsula’ at the SFHQ - J auditorium on Friday (20).

On the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J), Major General Mahesh Senanayake, it was meant to enhance knowledge on environment and educate them on renewable power resources which could provide solutions for the energy crisis in future.

Open Source Energy Solutions (Pvt) Ltd focuses on best practices of growing Gliricidia (Gliricidia Sepium) crop and obtaining of a reasonably steady yield in the Jaffna Peninsula. This company provides practical information on small-scale cultivation, harvesting, storing, processing and using it as a wood source for biomass power generation.

The Commander, SF-J having, assessed the outline of the proposed projects presented by Open Source Energy Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, opined that the SFHQ-J would be able to provide Gliricidia on reasonable terms after having gone into the specifics.
