Troops bade farewell to Major General A.K.S Perera, formerly the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) during two military ceremonies before he assumed office as the new Deputy Chief of Staff at the Army Headquarters.
7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (7 SLSC) serving the SFHQ-C at the Rondaw parade ground at the SFHQ-C premises saluted him on Tuesday (23).
General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division and senior officers of the SFHQ-C welcomed Major General Perera on arrival. Later, the outgoing SF Commander planted a Sandalwood sapling to mark his visit.
Commanders of 111, 112, 121 and 122 Brigades, Commanding Officers, Officers and other ranks were also present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, the outgoing SFHQ-C Commander addressed the troops serving the 12 Division on Feb 19 and took leave of them. He also planted a tree sapling on the occasion.
Major General G.R.H Dias, General Officer Commanding presented a souvenir to the outgoing Major General Perera on the same occasion.
