Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) in collaboration with the Kandy Rotary Club organized an eye clinic and a donation of free spectacles for needy people in Mullaittivu last Sunday (1).
Spectacles were distributed among 400 civil and military individuals across the Mullaittivu area, covering people living in the 59 Division area, 64 Division area and Forward Maintenance Area –Mullaittivu (FMA-MLT).
Two months ago, pre-screening and extensive vision testing were done in the same area to select people who have vision impairment problems.
This welfare programme conducted under the supervision of Brigade Commander, 591 Brigade under the guidance of Major General P. U. S. Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT coordinated by Colonel (Retd) R. B. Senanayake.
Commander, SFHQ-MLT as the Chief Guest and Chairperson of Rotary Club, together with its several members, including an eye specialist at the Kandy General Hospital and Colonel (Retd) R. B. Senanayake participated in the event as guests.
Several leading civilians also attended the event.
