Troops of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ- KLN) planted a sapling of the most sacred ‘Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi’ tree at the SFHQ- KLN temple premises after it was taken in a colourful procession to the location on Saturday (02).
The religious ceremony was arranged on the directions and the supervision of Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, SFHQ- KLN.
Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi (Bo tree) is the most sacred symbolic tree of the Buddhists in ‘Mahamewna Uyana’ , Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. After the right shoot from the historical ‘Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi’ at ‘Bodh Gaya’ in India, was brought here, it was planted in Anuradhpura.
Meanwhile, Ven. Higurakande Sumana Thero, Chief Incumbent at the Mankulam Viharaya, Kilinochchi conducted religious rituals to invoke blessings at the invitation of the Commander, SFHQ – KLN.
Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks serving under the SFHQ – KLN attended the event.
