Security Forces in West, Central &;amp; East Behind Dengue Eradication Programmes


Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West), in coordination with Homagama office of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), carried out another Dengue eradication campaign in Kahathuduwa area on Saturday (22).



Public Health Inspectors at MOH Homagama, Police officers of Homagama Police Station, Kahathuduwa Grama Seva Niladhari and more than 40 local community members, joined hands together to make the programme a success.

During this progranmme, over 464 houses in the area were inspected for possible mosquito breeding locations and people around the same time were advised to keep their gardens clean and tidy.

Meanwhile, Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C), in coordination with Haputale Divisional Secretariat office conducted a Dengue eradication campaign in Haputale urban areas on Thursday (20).



Tri-service troops, student trainees of training schools, Police personnel and state officials joined hands together for the project that started in the morning.

Meanwhile, 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under 232 Brigade in 23 Division launched a Dengue eradication prigramme in Periyawadduwan school premises on Friday (21). Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) has given its blessings to the project.
