Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa participated in a series of activities organized in view of the "Sambuddha Jayanthiya" in the eve of the first day of Vesak celebrations, (05th May).
Accordingly, the Secretary Defence opened Vesak "Dansal" and "Bakthi-Gee" presentations.
The 'Maha Bath Dansala' and "Vesak Bakthi Gee" presentations organized by the Nawaloka Group of Companies headed by Chairman Mr. Jayantha Dharmadasa were opened by the Secretary Defence. A "Dharma Pusthaka" printed by the Nawaloka Group was also presented to the Secretary at this occasion.
The "Bhakthi Gee' programme which was organized by the Department of Civil Security at "Bauddaloka Mawatha" was opened by the Secretary Defence on the same day. Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa was also present at the occasion.
Security Unit of the Defence Secretary, also organized "Maha Bath Dansala" (opposite to the Defence Secretary's Residence), Secretary opened the 'Dansala' by lighting Vasak Lanterns.
The First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Army Commander, Navy Commander, Inspector General of Police, senior military officers and many other distinguished guests participated the event. (Courtesy :- MoD)
