Students of the Vadamarachchi Educational Zone who have passed the Grade 5 scholarship examination in 2014, received school items and uniforms as incentives on 06 February 2015 at Uduthurai Hindu Primary school, Thalayadi in Jaffna.
The donation, organized by the 553 Brigade was sponsored by Mr. Ivor Vancuylenberg, Vice President Kinder Haifer, Fulda, Germany and the troops of the 10 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. A total of 190 students were benefited following this donation.
Colonel Vijith Subhasinghe, Commander, 553 Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Upul Satharasinghe, Commanding Officer, 10 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Mr. S. Iyanthiram, Principal, Uduthurai Hindu Primary school were also present at the event.
