SAARC Armed Force Officers on Goodwill Tour Meet Commander

Six Officers and 38 Cadet Officers of the Military Forces in South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, currently on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka, called on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya at his office Monday (15) evening.
 
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army, receiving them warmly at his office underlined the importance of further strengthening cooperation that exist among SAARC countries with the objective of resolving regional issues.
 
Towards the end of the interactions, the Commander presented mementos to representative heads of those respective delegations. The Commander's gesture of goodwill was reciprocated.

These officers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan during their 2 week-long stay in Sri Lanka are scheduled to visit Temple Trees, PM's Office, Navy and Air Force Commanders shortly and visit a number of places of interest across the country before they join the annual Herman Loose Camp at Rantembe as the final leg of the itinerary.
