Recovery of LTTE Corpses Rises to 525

MULLAITTIVU: SEARCH and clear operations being conducted by the troops in PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU area recovered seventy-two more LTTE dead bodies on Monday (6).

Latest recovery amounts the number of dead bodies so far found by the troops from the area since 1st of April to five hundred and twenty-five (525).

In addition, troops un-covered a fresh stock of arms and ammunition from the same area Monday (6) during extended search and clear operations.

It included two Light Machine Guns (LMGs), sixty-nine claymore mines, four hundred and forty eight (448) rounds of 12.7 ammunition, nineteen boxes of 12.7 ammunition, eighteen bags of ball bearing, twenty T-56 weapons, one Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) and a box of MPMG ammunition.
