Ranpokunagama Army Apartments Get New Facelift

On a directive given by the Commander of the Army, Directorate of Army Quartering took steps to repair and renovate 32 apartments, used by Army personnel at Ranpokunagama Udagama Housing Scheme.

A total of 32 houses that had been allocated to Army personnel, including disable ones  are maintained by the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under supervision of the Directorate of Admin and Quartering.

As per instructions of Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army, the renovation work began a few weeks ago.

Under the first step, 16 houses were renovated and 6 out of 16 were specially renovated for the easy use of disable soldiers since those houses are close to the Ranaviru Sevana, Ragama and Ranaviru Apparels, Yakkala where many of them perform duties or undergo rehabilitation.

On Tuesday (1), 10 of those renovated houses were given back to those occupants during a simple ceremony, attended by Director Admin and Quartering and Director General Rehabilitation.

Repairs to remaining houses are to be completed within a few weeks.
