Ranaviru Real Stars Colour Army Seva Vanitha 'Bethi Gee' Presentation

Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) members, led by Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, ASVU Tuesday (13) evening contributed their share to the commemoration of the most noble Thrice Blessed Day (Vesak) by holding a ‘Vesak Bethi Gee’ presentation at Defence Services College auditorium.

Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson, Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit at the invitation of Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, graced the devotional song spectacle, together with a host of senior officers, including the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.

A carefully selected team of Army vocalists, headed by those who did well in the Ranaviru Real Star musical programmes rent the air, recalling most sacred memories of the life of Gauthama Buddha who marked His birth, enlightenment and Parinibbana on the Vesak Full Moon Poya day.

Those devotional songs of high quality spoke of Buddha’s life stories as well as the virtues of the Buddhist doctrine that has existed in the country for a near 3000 years. Army artists, presented their stage talents in colourful skills.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage and his spouse, many senior officers, invitees and Seva Vanitha members witnessed the day’s spectacle.
